Take a Culinary Journey with the Sala Baï Students
Although in the traveler’s imagination, fish amok has for years been seen as the emblematic dish of the country, Cambodia has many other colors, smells and flavors that the students of Sala Baï would love to introduce you to.
“Go to Sala Baï and you’ll meet young trainees, all smiles, happy to be here, to be learning a skill and launching themselves into the future” – Régis Marcon, Chef of the Three-Star restaurant Régis et Jacques Marcon, sponsor of the scool.
The Sala Baï training restaurant, together with the training Hotel and Beauty Salon, is an essential learning tool for the school. All meals are prepared and served by students. The fusion cuisine of Sala Baï prepares students for international standards of hospitality and offers a selection of varied dishes (international and Khmer) taking you on an unforgettable culinary journey.
The training restaurant is only open on weekdays for lunch services from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on weekdays (from Monday to Friday). The restaurant is closed during evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Vegetarian options are on the menu, we can also cook vegan, gluten-free versions on request.

The Sala Baï restaurant is located in a large room upstairs in an elegant building that combines tradition and modernity and has been carefully decorated by the Restaurant students.
Along the alley that leads to the school’s tropical garden, you will have the opportunity to observe the cooking students in action through the large bay window that offers a full panorama of the kitchen.

“Great food and a great cause”
We had a lovely lunch here with our tour group. The service was excellent and the food looked and tasted great. They were great catering for vegetarians and for a gluten free menu. The story behind this school is very inspirational and it was great to support such an amazing cause. I would definitely recommend coming for a meal.
“Beautiful lunch x 2”
We first visited Sala Bai in 2013, and as the lunch was so memorable we decided to book again and take our friends. The work that is being done is exceptional, training 120 underprivileged young people in the hospitality industry. We chose the 3 course lunch for $12. The service was attentive and the food was the best we had in Cambodia and as good as any restaurant in Australia. The French white wine at $13 a bottle was a wonderful accompaniment to the food. After lunch we toured the facility including the hotel and learnt more about the organisation. We were so moved by the work that is being done, we returned again for lunch the next day.
