At Sala Baï, vocational training is designed as a sustainable lever to fight poverty in Cambodia.

Each year, the program evolves to meet the standards of the hospitality sector and strengthen the employability of the 150 students trained annually.

In 2026, two major developments further reinforce this mission of inclusivity and excellence.

1. BEEP: Securing Official Academic Recognition

Many students had to interrupt their schooling in order to financially support their families.

The concept:
The BEEP (Basic Education Equivalency Programme) consists of online modules complemented by evening sessions supervised by a school teacher. In just one month, students completed the entire program and are now waiting for their final exam.

Equal recognition for all:
Students who did not complete lower secondary school can now obtain official recognition of their academic level.

Regardless of their initial educational background, every graduate leaves Sala Baï with the Technical & Vocational Certificate 1, recognized by the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (CQF2, equivalent to Grade 10/11).*

2. LX Labs: Aligning Training with International Luxury Standards

In high-end hospitality, technical skills must be combined with impeccable soft skills and strong professional English.

The partnership with LXLabs provides Spa and Front Office students with access to a specialized digital learning platform including:

  • Language immersion: English courses focused on hospitality and wellness-specific vocabulary.
  • Relational excellence: Modules dedicated to conflict resolution, dealing with complaints, recommending services, communicating feedback, coordinating with departments, etc.

The objective:
To prepare students not only to enter the job market, but to grow and progress within it.

By combining academic catch-up (BEEP) and technological modernization (LX Labs), Sala Baï demonstrates that socially driven vocational training can, and must, meet the highest standards of excellence.

Supporting this model means investing in sustainable upward mobility for young people from underprivileged backgrounds, and transforming interrupted schooling into chosen professional opportunity.

*Sala Baï’s diploma is also recognized by the Ministry of Tourism and across the 10 ASEAN countries.
